Employee Owners

A word from our president and CEO

In 1983, I started this company with a red truck and vision. Over the last four decades, my vision became a reality because of the team that showed up every day to build it with me. When it came time to think of the future, there was only one option that felt right. I wanted to put this company in the hands of the employees who built it. The transition to an ESOP wasn’t just a transaction; it is the foundation to continue everything I set out to do in 1983. I know this team will keep my legacy going for the next 100+ years, and I am excited to see what is ahead.

President & CEO

Why ESOPS Matter

As owners, we are invested in the team’s success because when one person wins, we all win. This is the true strength of employee ownership. Every employee plays a role as a safety leader. Our ownership model promotes the application of our core safety values and encourages proactive decision-making. In an environment where everyone is committed to a common goal, challenges are approached with a sense of shared responsibility, leading to more effective problem-solving and stronger team dynamics. As a result, ESOPs not only enrich employees’ financial futures but also cultivate a thriving workplace culture where success is truly a shared journey.

Built to Last

Employee ownership isn’t just a benefit structure, it’s a long-term strategy that will protect the integrity of our brand and values. It keeps our team invested, provides a reason to grow within the company, and ensures the Worth & Company legacy continues for the next 100+ years. When our people win, our customers win.

Become an Owner

Join our team and become a fellow employee-owner. Employee ownership is a different way of doing business: we are all 100% accountable and 100% invested. This creates a powerful dynamic that benefits our people, our clients, and our work.

People Stories

Worth & Company has been built by the people who show up every day to do the work right. As an employee-owned company, each of us has a stake in the outcomes we deliver, and that mindset shapes how we solve problems, support our crews, and build lasting relationships with our customers. Here, our team shares what being an employee-owner means to them.

Being a partner of an employee stock ownership company is so inspiring knowing what the next 5, 10, and 20+ years could mean for everyone.  Unlike traditional corporations, Worth allows many benefits for the employees. The atmosphere daily is like being at Game 7 of the World Series and your team is up 10-0.  It’s an award-winning environment that allows professional success and business growth.

The ESOP means a lot to me because it makes me feel like I’m part of something bigger than myself, not just a place I come to work every day. I know the work I do helps contribute to our success, and we get to share in that success as an owner. That gives me a real sense of pride and confidence in the future and excitement about what we’re building together.

Sarah Lauble
Director of Construction Services

To me, ESOP strengthens the connection to the company’s success because we are all invested in the same outcome. It’s nice knowing that the hard work we put in everyday can benefit both the company and its employees. I also appreciate the sense of collaboration and teamwork it creates, knowing we’re all working towards a similar goal.

Adam Kleckner
Senior Project Manager | Industrial

Being an employee-owner means knowing my work shapes Worth's future while making a real difference in the lives of the people I work beside. Worth creates a space where people willingly share knowledge with each other and can be confident that it will strengthen our cause. Being part of an ESOP turns every challenge into a shared commitment and every success into a shared victory.

FAQs

An ESOP is an Employee Stock Ownership Plan. An ESOP is a retirement benefit plan in which an employee’s account balance is tied to the company’s share value rather than external securities. The company makes annual contributions and the value of your account tracks closely with our success. You pay nothing for your shares and do not have to contribute to your ESOP account.

It is open to all employees who are over the age of 18 and have worked at least 1,000 hours in the last 12 months.

No. Shares are allocated to eligible employees as a company-funded benefit. No outside investment is required.

Eligibility is typically based on hours worked. Once you meet those requirements, you are automatically enrolled. You can reach out to our ESOP committee for our specific vesting schedule.

Vested shares are paid out according to plan rules, usually after a set distribution period following departure or retirement.

A 401(k) is typically funded by employee contributions and sometimes matched by the company; an ESOP is a company-funded and tied directly to company stock, not general market investments.

ESOP account balances typically change once per year. Employee-owners receive an annual statement outlining the year’s financial activity, including company contributions and the updated account balance based on the new share price.

An ESOP trustee oversees the ESOP trust and represents the interests of plan participants, ensuring the plan is operated in their best interests. The trustee also helps establish the annual stock price in coordination with an independent valuation firm. ESOP trustees are either appointed by the Board of Directors or elected by employee-owners. Trustees are knowledgeable about the plan and are available to answer questions employee-owners may have regarding ESOP participation.

Yes, our customers work with teams who think like owners. That means proactive problem-solving, collaborative thinking, and a firm commitment to delivering excellence.
