University of Delaware Building X
Worth & Company was tasked with the plumbing for the new 132,000-square-foot building at the University of Delaware.

This project consisted of installation of complex systems such as acid waste systems, RODI piping, and medical gases. To ensure traceability of the work, Worth & Company implemented weld maps and pipe markings, which significantly reduced the need for revisiting completed areas. Additionally, to achieve the cleanest possible installation, piping ends were capped throughout the construction phase.
The building’s structure, made of cast-in-place concrete with slab depths ranging from 14 to 16 inches, required precise penetrations, hanger embeds, and floor drains. Worth & Company developed a custom pan support for securely mounting floor drains to concrete forms. To ensure the most accurate layout, the Hilti Total Station was used, with Hilti providing on-site assistance. Reflectors were strategically placed on nearby buildings to facilitate layout from the ground to the penthouse floor.
