Kreider Farms Plant
Worth & Company was awarded the general mechanical contract for the Kreider Farms Plant in Manheim, PA.

Worth & Company worked closely with Bion PA1 and Primus Builders on establishing guidelines for this new innovative technology, ensuring smooth future plant nutrient management facility construction. Worth’s team utilized the Design Build approach (working with a reputable engineer) and facilitated and established the process with Bion and Primus.
The general scope is to furnish, install and place into operating conditions, horizontal, self-priming centrifugal solids handling pumps for distributing liquids. In addition, supply all appurtenances, accessory equipment and auxiliaries for complete pumping systems which include double disk diaphragm pump, progressive cavity pumps and process gas and liquids handling pumps. A challenge of this project is not only working with brand new technology but also, the aggressive nature of the schedule. Using the existing manure storage tank on site, reduced the initial construction cost significantly and is just one example of Worth’s innovation with the partnership of the Owner and Owner’s Representative. It is necessary to complete the job in four phases due to the time constraints required.
Upon commissioning, the state-of-the-art facility will lower the Phosphorus and Nitrogen concentration within the cow manure. With Bion Technologies patented process, it will reduce the number of phosphors and nitrogen entering the Chesapeake water shed thereby improving the water quality within the Chesapeake Bay.
