Lititz Wastewater Treatment Plant
Worth & Company was contracted to perform an $11.5 million upgrade that would transform the existing 4 MGD process to a Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) process. The Worth team constructed a new dewatering/dryer building that included a new Alfa Laval centrifuge and Komoline Sanderson dryer to produce Class A sludge for disposal. A new filter building with three new Kruger disk filters was constructed; and a digester was rehabilitated. New UV disinfection was added to the effluent to eliminate the use of CL2. The project was completed timely and well-received.
